Financial Crisis and You - The Michigan Daily

This Forum is an opportunity to learn how the financial crisis impacts tuition, financial aid, housing, the job market, and a variety of other issues that have to do with Ann Arbor and the University.

Many events on campus have tried to inform students about what is happening on Wall Street, but this forum is more focused on what is happening on “State Street.”

Many students wonder how the economy will treat them once they enter the real world, and many are interested at how their experience will be different from past generations. It is all summed up by the question, ‘How does the financial crisis affect me?’

This Forum is an opportunity to learn about how the financial crisis impacts YOU, and a chance to ask your most burning questions:
Can I still get a job?
Is tuition going to increase?
Can I get scholarships and financial aid now? How?
What kind of loans should I be taking out?
What services does the University have to help students like me?
What do I need to know to keep myself out of excessive debt?

Speakers and panelists will include:
Provost Teresa Sullivan
Economics Chair Linda Tesar
Economics Professor Paul Courant
And more!

*This event is a must for students on financial aid, graduating seniors, and anyone who wants to learn about what University and local resources are available.*
