The LSA SG Executive Board biographies
President: Christine Schepeler
Hi! My name is Christine Schepeler and I’m a Senior from Connecticut, triple majoring in Political Science, American Culture, and Communications. I’m the 50th person on my mom’s side of the family to attend the University of Michigan. I have been on SG since the fall of my freshman year. The past two years I was the External Relations Officer and Communications Committee chair–working extensively on both internal and external communication for SG. Some of our biggest goals for the upcoming year are encouraging and promoting Campus Synergy, keeping the students informed and being transparent as a government, improving the funding application process for student groups, and increasing collaboration on campus. Some of the biggest projects I have worked on are a part of the LSA Pride Campaign, which include the LSA Senior Sendoff–a graduation event for the entire college of LSA, and a convocation event in the fall for all incoming LSA freshman. Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions about LSA Student Government as well as in regards to any collaborative opportunities on campus at cschep@umich.edu.

I am always looking for new projects or issues to work on and can be contacted via email at jawojcik@umich.edu.

Counsel: Nick Tan
Hi! My name is Nick Tan and I am a senior. I joined LSA SG freshman year as an associate representative on the Academic Affairs Committee, and successfully ran for a representative seat for two consecutive two years. I have previously served as the SAPAA Vice-Chair, where I worked closely with the Advising Center to improve freshman and sophomore academic advising, and as the Appointments Chair, where I oversaw our recruitment efforts, and created a new member packet to improve member retention. Past projects that I have worked on include creating the Peace and Social Justice Minor, and working with the Athletics Department to provide free transportation to home basketball games. Some projects that I hope to accomplish this year as Counsel include updating the bylaws to reflect our current practices, and working to improve both academic and student life on campus, including increasing student involvement in departments, and collaboration with the Athletics Department. Feel free to email me at nicktan@umich.edu if you have any questions or just want to chat!
